วัดมเหยงคณ์
วัดมเหยงคณ์ เป็นวัดราษฎร์สังกัดคณะสงฆ์มหานิกาย ที่ตั้งอยู่ในตำบลหันตรา อำเภอพระนครศรีอยุธยา จังหวัดพระนครศรีอยุธยา
วัดมเหยงคณ์ หรือ วัดมหิยงคณ์ มีความหมายถึง ภูเขา หรือ เนินดิน คำว่า มเหยงคน์เป็นชื่อของพระธาตุที่มีความสำคัญของศรีลังกา เรียกว่า มหิยังคณ์เจดีย์ เดิมเป็นพระอารามหลวงฝ่ายวิปัสสนาธุระ
ตามพงศาวดารเหนือ มเหสีของพระเจ้าธรรมราชา กษัตริย์องค์ที่ 8 ของ เมืองอโยธยา ทรงเป็นผู้สร้างวัดมเหยงคณ์ แต่กระนั้นตามพระราชพงศาวดารกรุงเก่า ฉบับหลวงประเสริฐ กล่าวว่า ปีศักราชที่ 800 มะเมียศก หรือ ปี พ.ศ. 1981 สมเด็จพระบรมราชาธิราชที่ 2 ทรงสร้างวัดมเหยงคณ์ วัดมีความเจริญรุ่งเรืองสืบมานานหลายร้อยปี กระทั่งมารกร้างและต้องทำการปฏิสังขรณ์ครั้งใหญ่ ในสมัยพระเจ้าท้ายสระ และรุ่งเรืองสืบมาจนถึงวันที่ 7 เมษายน พ.ศ. 2310 ได้ถูกทำลายและทิ้งร้างอีกครั้ง จนเมื่อ พ.ศ. 2527 พระภาวนาเขมคุณ (หลวงพ่อสุรศักดิ์ เขมรังสี) เจ้าอาวาสวัดมเหยงคณ์ ได้จัดตั้งสำนักกรรมฐานขึ้นที่วัดมเหยงคณ์ เพื่ออบรมวิปัสสนาให้กับบุคคลทั่วไป ปัจจุบันกรมศิลปากรได้ขึ้นทะเบียนวัดมเหยงคณ์เป็นโบราณสถานของชาติ ตั้งแต่วันที่ 8 มีนาคม พ.ศ. 2484 กระทรวงศึกษาธิการประกาศตั้งเป็นวัดเมื่อวันที่ 3 ธันวาคม พ.ศ. 2544
เสนาสนะ
ส่วนอุโบสถที่เป็นโบราณสถาน ตั้งอยู่บนฐานสูง 2 ชั้น ความกว้าง 18 เมตร ความยาว 36 เมตร มีประตูทางเข้าด้านตะวันออก 3 ช่อง ด้านตะวันตก 2 ช่อง มีเจดีย์ฐานช้างล้อม อยู่ด้านหลังอุโบสถทางทิศตะวันตก พ้นเขตกำแพงแก้ว ลักษณะขององค์เจดีย์เป็นรูปแบบของลังกาเหนือ เหมือนเจดีย์ช้างล้อมที่สุโขทัย ภายในอุโบสถมี หลวงพ่อหินทรายศักดิ์สิทธิ พระประธานในอุโบสถ ที่ยังคงปรากฏให้เห็นคือ หักล้มลงเป็นท่อน ลานดินรูปเกือบจะสี่เหลี่ยมจัตุรัส ที่เรียกว่า โคกโพธิ์ ด้านทิศตะวันออก ของเขตพุทธาวาส กว้าง 50 เมตร ยาว 58 เมตร สันนิษฐานว่า เคยเป็นพลับพลาที่ประทับของพระเจ้าหงสาวดี พระเจ้าตะเบ็งชเวตี้
