สุโขทัย รุ่งอรุณแห่งอาณาจักรไทย [3] วัดตระพังทองหลาง
วัดตระพังทองหลาง สุโขทัย
วัดตระพังทองหลาง หรือ โบราณสถานร้าง ต.อ.13 เป็นโบราณสถานร้างที่ตั้งอยู่นอกกำแพงเมืองทางด้านทิศตะวันออก ในพื้นที่อุทยานประวัติศาสตร์สุโขทัย ตำบลเมืองเก่า อำเภอเมืองสุโขทัย จังหวัดสุโขทัย
ไม่ปรากฏหลักฐานว่าวัดตระพังทองหลางสร้างในสมัยใด หรืออาจสร้างขึ้นในช่วงรัชกาลพญาลิไท เนื่องจากพระองค์โปรดเกล้าฯ ให้สร้างวัดวาอารามหลายแห่ง ทั้งในสุโขทัยและตามเมืองในเครือข่ายในสุโขทัย อาจคงสร้างวัดตระพังทองหลางด้วย
ศิลปกรรมที่สำคัญ คือ มณฑปก่อด้วยอิฐ เป็นอาคารในผังรูปสี่เหลี่ยมจัตุรัส ภายในประดิษฐานพระพุทธรูปขนาดใหญ่เต็มพื้นที่ แต่ปัจจุบันชำรุดมากแล้ว ด้านทิศตะวันออกเป็นซุ้มประตู อีกสามด้านเป็นผนังที่ประดับด้วยปูนปั้น มีเนื้อหาเกี่ยวกับพุทธประวัติ บรรดาภาพปูนปั้นเหล่านี้แสดงถึงลักษณะศิลปะสุโขทัยที่เจริญสูงสุดซึ่งอายุอยู่ในราวกลางพุทธศตวรรษที่ 20 ด้านทิศตะวันออกต่อจากซุ้มประตูด้านหน้ามณฑป มีวิหารโถงต่อยื่นออกมา ก่อด้วยอิฐ เสาเป็นศิลาแลง โดยรอบมณฑปและวิหารมีเจดีย์รายตั้งอยู่มากกว่า 10 องค์ ส่วนใหญ่เหลือร่องรอยหลักฐานเพียงส่วนฐาน ศึกษารูปแบบไม่ได้แล้ว แต่มีเจดีย์รายอยู่ 1 องค์ที่หลงเหลือส่วนล่างที่เป็นแบบแผนของเจดีย์ทรงยอดดอกบัวตูม
