วัดตองปุ วัดนี้เป็นวัดมอญ ตองปุ เป็นภาษามอญ แปลว่า ที่ชุมนุมพลก่อนออกรบ อยู่หลังโรงเรียนพิบูลวิทยาลัย ตำบลทะเลชุบศร เป็นวัดเก่าแก่ที่มีความสำคัญวัดหนึ่ง สร้างขึ้นในรัชสมัยสมเด็จพระนารายณ์มหาราช ศิลปกรรมที่พบส่วนหนึ่งมีรูปแบบเป็นของกลุ่มชาวมอญได้แก่ หลักไม้จำหลักเก็บพระคัมภีร์ในพระอุโบสถ และลายรดน้ำบานประตูพระวิหาร เมื่อครั้งสมเด็จพระนารายณ์ฯ ทรงสร้างเมืองลพบุรี ก็ได้สร้างวัดตองปุขึ้น และนิมนต์พระภิกษุมอญจากวัดตองปุ ที่สมเด็จพระนเรศวรมหาราชได้ทรงสร้างไว้ที่กรุงศรีอยุธยามาจำพรรษาที่วัดนี้ด้วย วัดตองปุเป็นวัดโบราณที่มีความสำคัญในฐานะเป็นศาสนสถานสมัยอยุธยา ที่คงสภาพค่อนข้างสมบูรณ์และมีพระภิกษุใช้ประโยชน์อยู่
